this is the first installment of a weekly series to help those wanting to learn the region. Other gyms are welcome to participate. Its best to offer up builds or fighters you dont intend to use again.
My first fighter to profile is charley burley. Strength 20 Knockout Punch 3 Speed 8 Agility 22 Chin 9 Conditioning 19
Cut Resistance Low Winning Streak 0 Rating 17 Status 18 Rank 4 Total Earnings: $43,809,366 Injury Points 260 AP Loss 4 Height 5 feet 9 inches (175 centimeters) Build very heavy Weight 166 pounds (75 kilograms) Minimum Weight 157 pounds (71 kilograms)
like the vryk builds I always use very heavy builds to maximize agility. kp was added in the event the fight is headed for a draw.
This is a standard bk ropes plan if I thought they had lower chins. Id rope most of the fight and in round 23 im using a feint to possibly win the round and if all other things are even- the decision.
1) 4/8/8 (ropes);
2) 4B/8/8 (ropes);
if opponent = strong then 4B/8/8 (ropes);
if opponent = tired then 4B/9/7 (ropes);
if endurance_percent <= 60 then 1/1/12
10) 4B/8/8 (ropes);
if opponent = strong then 4B/8/8 (ropes);
if opponent = tired then 5B/9/6 (ropes);
if endurance_percent <= 60 then 1/1/9 (clinch);
18) 4B/8/8 (ropes);
if opponent = strong then 4B/8/8 (ropes);
if opponent = tired then 4B/9/7 (ropes);
if endurance_percent <= 60 then 1/1/9 (clinch);
21) 4B/7/9 (ropes);
#f opponent = strong then 4B/7/9 (ropes);
if opponent = tired then 4B/7/9 (ropes);
23) 4h/8/8(feint);
if hisstuns + mystuns = 0 then 5H/10/5 (feint);
24) 4B/8/8 (ropes);
if opponent = strong then 4B/8/8 (ropes);
if opponent = tired then 4B/9/7 (ropes);
if endurance_percent <= 60 then 1/1/9 (clinch);
The strike can be done in any of the rounds. trying to guess which round will keep your opponent guessing. Its a 25 round game of cat and mouse.
This is not a good plan vs flashers as its too offensive minded. please feel free to ask questions.

i my opinion retire the fighter. start new ones. what kind of fighter do you want to run with? clinchers , ropists- strikers? your bk record is good- so you have a good foundation.
how can I help? post here or send email to hem

I don't remember how my fighters looked as it was years ago (I'm pretty sure I won even with Counter or KP Counter too), but my record in BK is:
Bare Knuckles: $48,841,598 total earnings. Record: 142-40-37. 27 titles.
I don't have builds as I gave away fighters, but I have still FPs. You fight different when you're a champion and when you're not. I will post it in a few days, because I must take a look and see what I wanted to do there (I named my FPs like BK FP 1, BK FP 1a, BK FP 1a2 = I have no idea what I wanted to do and if I was a champion or not then)

I've run a number of the old fighters that Vryk and I had, and I will say that Hem's "striker" types take me out most of the time. We used 7 chin mostly, even started a few at 6, so the non-max kp will usually at least get the stun or kd even with my agility advantage.
The only thing I would correct with Hem's plan are the 5-aggression lines, since there is no need to take additional fatigue if you are just slugging.

The plan I aid out is just a foundation blue print. Find out what works and what dosnt.
if you win a round early and goe defensive- add a 4h/7/9 (ring); in case they go al out or 5h/10/5 inside
*****************************
Posted by: HEMMINGWAYS Home Of Poets n Pugilists<SOS>
I use this or a variation of it against flashers if Im confident in my chin and aglity
1) 1/1/18 (ring);
4) 4h/8/8(ring);
5) 4h/8/8 (ring); #Go after the cut if he starts bleeding badly
if hiscuts > 3 then 5C/7/8 (ring);
if endurance_percent <= 60 then 1/1/8 (outside);
if endurance_percent < 30 and opponent = strong then towel
21) 4H/8/8 (ring);
#Go after the cut if he starts bleeding badly
if hiscuts > 3 then 4C/9/7 (ring);
if endurance_percent <= 60 then 1/1/8 (outside);
if endurance_percent < 30 and opponent = strong then towel

concerning vryks builds from his help section- you dont have to start with a 7 chin- you can start with a 9-11 , thats were trial and error come into play.
a solid build is the foundation in bk
knowing how to use that build and knowing the enemy build (scouting)
find a way to win without receiving too many ips or ability points loss.
vryks builds and ideology are as sound today as they were 8 years ago. how they fit into
your gym style is up too you.
pipps style seemed to be a variation of vryks. with alot more speed and chin.

zams comment on different plans to win and defend titles is right on the money.
to win a title- you need to do alot of damage and take chances. defending is different- its about waiting for them to make a mistake or forcing the fight to a draw. a draw as a titlist goes down as a successful defense.
*****************************

to study the best clinchers mr pipps gym in bk are astronomical. my fighters used to piss in their pants before the first bell ra

To clarify - I dont have a BK fighter with 4 ap loss - that is what you put in your first post. Obviously that is after he won a bunch of titles but stillI tend to drop a BK fighter at 1 or 2 ap loss... just depends if he's winning. However none make it very far. I only have a good record from low status fights.

take it one fight at a time. youll add aps as you need them. Its a good build and a good start for a clincher/ possible ropist.
upside:
- youll deal allot of damage.
- youll receive a limited amount of damage.
downside:
- after 3 fights or so- the experienced bk gyms will see that dramatic power as the rounds progress and will figure out yr build (low chin).
-with out a few kp points you cant go for a striker stun to steal a round.
- youll end up with alot of 25 round draws.
what would i do diffrent?
12-14 str/-2- kp/ 13- 14 stam/ chin 10 . by rearranging a few things
you can still clinch for most of the fight- then add a strike line somewhere between round 1-25. dont under estimate speed. by status 18 itll need to be 9-11 if not higher. at 511 id defintly
turn that fighter into a middlweight adding agility fight by fight.
another note about strikers- you dont have to strike every fight- rrrr was a master at hiding
kp for most of a fighters career. Ive won bk fights going 1/1/18 (ring) the whole fight and striking in one round. 5h/10/5 (feint);

height 5-11. he lost speed over time so if i could get back 4- points theyd go too speed. other bk managers would not agree with me.
a low chinned ropist could be living hell to fight until the equalizer kicked in (ko) power.
this build does well against all but not the extreme damage clinchers (pipps)- they would eat this fighter for breakfast.
other bk managers- please fell free to jump in and add your comments- feel free to oppose my views.

BK is good place for flasher.
Lot's of low chins. Plus, if you don't get the KO, you towel rush and get minimum IPs. That's a formula for success in a region with -3 AP champs.

I'd slightly disagree with Jimmy,sure KP will have success but in my opinion mostly at lower status.if you want a fighter to 'last' his way to a title I'd have no more than 2 KP (3 at a push)
Pips fighter Yuri "point Snatcher" Gorbikov (40-2-12 35/1) - this fighter had ZERO KP. That said Pip was a very special BK manager.
For me any more than 2/3 KP is a waste,pure flashes with 6+ will do well until around 14/14 then they really begin to suffer (lost IPs)

Agree with Locky, Great stuff so far Hemmy!
Just shouldn't put the fighter earnings in stats... dead giveaway, but I sort of new who I was looking for!
4-6 KP is ok if you can finish the fight using it, if not you will absorb a lot of IP's... 2-3 will get you a stun or KD and still leave your fighter viable in the endurance side of the fight.
Chin is fast becoming a very critical part of a BK fighters build. Where once you could start fighters with as low as 6 chin, many fighters now have KP and if your fighters chin is low your fighter may struggle to move up in the rankings. Chin in the range of 8-12 is what is needed in a BK fighter and your FP needs to be built around your fighters chin and your opponents KP or lack of KP.
In BK you need to learn how not to lose fight, then learn how to win that same fight through discovering your opponents weakness in build or FP.
